Thanks for checking this out!
You will be added to the direct email list. Once a weekday (usually around 9am) you will receive a survey test question via an email from info@confluencelandsurveying.com containing a google form link. Enter your email into the form so I can gauge participation and question difficulty.
About the Quiz: Questions are designed to prepare quiz-takers for the NCEES Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) Test, NCEES Principles and Practice of Surveying (PS) Test, or California Specific Exam (CA PLS Exam). Currently, test questions are geared towards the PS Test
About the Author: I (Kyle Brook) am a California PLS, licensed in 2022. During the process of preparing for all required tests for licensure, I found a lack of good, free, up-to-date, digital study material. Following licensure, I decided to provide practice questions that will hopefully help others prepare, or keep those who are already licensed sharp.
What You Get: Free quiz questions and explanations of the solutions with direct reference to the source of the solution.
What I Get: I get to slowly build up a repository of quiz questions to eventually compile into a practice test. I also get to aid my own retention of survey knowledge and material.
The most important thing you can provide is Feedback! Disagree with an answer? Think that phrasing of a question or answer is a bit misleading? TELL ME! I will tell you why I think I was right, or will freely admit if I am wrong and provide a correction.
I also get a little traffic to my website. I am in the beginning process of growing my survey company and every bit of traffic helps me rank higher in search engines. Comment on the Daily Survey Question, click around, visit my blog and read my whines, if you want to help me out.
Please keep in mind that these tests frequently have no good answer, just a best answer. Almost always the real answer is something like: "Well you should go get more information" or "You should put this into CAD and verify your math"
That is not an option in this testing format. Questions need to be prepared to have a best answer and that answer needs to be cite-able, and widely correct (nationally or state-wide).
What I Fear: I put a lot of effort into creating these questions and helping others on their path to licensure. Hopefully I will be able to use that effort to create a few monetized products in the coming years. If posting my daily questions means my content is stolen... well that would suck. Please don't do that. Just enjoy the free service I provide, give some feedback, and get licensed (or stay sharp)!
Thanks again,
Kyle Brook PLS 9686
