Our Team

Principal Land Surveyor: Kyle Brook, PLS 9686

Kyle Brook (PLS 9686) was raised in Lotus, CA, and when not working can be found rafting on the South Fork of the American River, skiing, or spending time with animals. While on calls he frequently has to apologize for the roosters crowing in the background.

Kyle started out surveying in the Bay Area and specializes in boundary resolution, survey system development, and educating future surveyors.

Survey Crew: Phil Woltz

Phil won’t believe you when you tell him the GPS is wrong (pictured right). While he doesn’t have the skillset of other star crew members like Echo or Buster, he tries hard to keep up and brings a very human element to Confluence Land Surveying.

Phil wrote a bio for himself, but I chose not to use it. He provided a different photo, but this one is too good to pass up. Phil shows great promise as a future-licensee and works hard to make his work in both the office and the field top-notch. Coming from a background in BIM and Survey Equipment Sales, he picked up surveying quickly. Phil can be found during the workweek patiently waiting for Kyle to finish whinging.

Lead Drafter:

James Sutherland

James is a passionate learner and an avid outdoorsman. When not drafting a map at record speed he is walking his pups Gwen and Maggie. He is close to obtaining his Land Surveying License and eager start training his newborn how to survey the land.

CACOA (Chief of All Confluence Operations, Always):

Margaret MacQueen

How does anything at Confluence Land Surveying get done with all of the varied staff? Not at all without Maggie (not the same as James’ Maggie). This dynamo can do it all and frequently does. Without her Confluence Land Surveying would not be able to offer such a wide range of services at high speed.

Survey Crew: Echo

Echo is 3 years old, and although young, she has a nose for good survey work. She enjoys surveying properties with lots of smells, or water to cool off in. She spends her time outside of Confluence Land Surveying digging up property instead of property corners, playing with her friends, and sniffing cats.

Office Security: Odin

Odin protects Confluence Land Surveying Headquarters with a booming bark and a lethal tail wag. Despite how scary he can seem, he struggles to keep the building safe when offered belly rubs.

Office Staff: Gerald “Buster” Dempsey Purrsey III

Gerald, or “Buster”, isn’t the most focused employee, but like many staff members he is food-motivated and brings a different perspective to the team. While we hope he can hit his optimization rate soon, until then he teams up with his best bud Raisin.

Office Staff: Raisin

Raisin is a HR nightmare. Crabby, loud, and full of teenage angst. Despite this, he outcompetes the other cats in cuteness daily. Productivity takes a hit when he is distracting the rest of the staff.

Human Resources: Sunny

Have you ever hired someone for a role who isn’t great at the job but is a great fit for your company? That’s Sunny. He can get along with everyone when he is in the right mood. He can turn on you in a second if you cross him. Pictured right he is yelling from the GNSS Handheld box about employees not filling their timesheets out properly.
